   What are websites? Well These are collection of web pages (documents that are accessed through the Internet), such as the one you're looking at now. A website is also a location connected to the internet that maintains one or more pages in the World Wide Web or also known as WWW. Wondering what is WWW or World Wide Web? It is basically a system of internet servers that support specially formatted documents.The documents are formatted in a markup language called HTML(HyperText Markup Language) that supports links to other documents, as well as graphics, audio, and video files. HTML is also platform independent that can create a code on a computer and then uses a browser on another type of computer to view that file as a web page. HTMLs are made in a text editor called Notepad. And all of this was invented by :

• It is also known as a search engine.(A search engine is like a page where you can search anything).
• It also has GMAIL(Google mail) for transferring mails.

• It is used worldwide.

Advantages of this website:

    You can search anything on it and can be your teacher.

Disadvantages of this website:

   There are also bad things on it or bad websites.

 You can watch free movies,videos,music and many more to have entertainment in life.

Disadvantages of this website:

  Other people can watch bad,violent and pornographic videos which may not be suitable for them.Then it affects their behavior and mind.

  It is surprising that some of the ideas in this blog is from Wikipedia that meants the site is very helpful on finding information than scanning books.

It is written in many languages so that foreigners can read it too.

 Sometimes the information here is edited by other people and can be wrong.It should not be written by anyone.If someone copies it,the information can be wrong and the one who copies it,becomes a fool.

   You can share your photos and videos,it will seem like sharing your talents.

Disadvantages of this website:

 You can be hacked and your photos/videos can be edited by others and use it. You can have negative comments and be cyber bullied.

 I can conclude that websites are helpful in our life but it still has disadvantages. It is helpful like making this blog using this website, I can share my opinions with you guys. We are being dependent on websites because we always post everything we think is good and not"thinking before clicking". We always copy work of websites like copying information from Wikipedia and not thinking if it right or wrong. We are becoming addicted to the web and learn new things. We are becoming minions again in the internet(like I mentioned on my 4th blog) because the internet is like ruling and controlling us now. Like the quote says:

The quote is stating that even we know the answer to our questions,we still search on the internet. We are being judgmental to our answers. We should LEARN TO BE INDEPENDENT.

   

What would Life be without Internet and WiFi?

Hmmm.Imagine what would happen to our life without internet?

     Most of us will think that life would be nothing and just some kind of junk.But wait let's remember that God gave us life and we should not abuse it. People have really adapted their life in using internet and some are addicted to it.We use internet everyday and it  has become a part of our lives.So it means if one part gets removed in our life it would be hard to live and we will have a complicated life. It would be like living with 1 kidney,lung or any body part.But it is really false that we cannot live without internet.

Let us not forget that without any of the basic needs to live ,like water,food,oxygen, shelter etc.You are gonna die without these basic needs. 

But what would life be without WiFi(wireless connection)?

        One of the meme I saw in the internet say:(well,look at that i'm using the internet to read some bunch of memes and also making this blog) The internet has advantages like I said in my 1st blog,please read that and my other blogs. Back to the meme:

The picture states that Life without WiFi is like living in the old age because The WiFi is the reason we do a lot of things and search things. It is our kind of entertainment in life.Many people use it to electronic devices to be able to access the network.The WiFi is different with the Internet because the internet is the interconnections of networks while The WiFi is a wireless computer networking technology.Mostly,WiFi is used in accessing social media sites.

 Now returning to our topic,How would life  be without these things? Will it be hard or easy to live?

  Advantages without Internet and WiFi:

• People wouldn't be lazy to do their work because they know that the only solution of their work is by thinking and using books., unless they want to fail.
• There wouldn't be cyber bullying and hacking in  sites, because there is no internet to access this sites.
• There wouldn't be bad things like pornographic sites and violence  sites that people especially teenagers would watch.
• There wouldn't be plagiarism in internet but can be in real life.
• Children wouldn't be addicted to games(no poor eyesight ) but study their lessons in school.
• Old street games would be trending again.(Yey)

Parents would be lucky because they don't need to worry about their children.Everything will be good with this advantages.Now let us talk about the disadvantages:

Disadvantages without Internet and WiFi:

• There would not be an easy way to do work especially assignments :(
• There would be no blogs and social networking sites to communicate and socialize  to people.
• There wouldn't be sites where we could watch videos or movies like YouTube and no entertainment.
• No one would know about an history and there is no Google or Wikipedia.
• No one would catch up on missed news and what's happening to our world.
• No GPS through cellphone or computer ,if someone is lost,no one would where he/she is.
• No online messaging and calling.

 I guess they almost have an equal number. We should know the importance of internet to our lives.

 Thank you so much and Thank God for giving intelligent people to make these things.These people are gifted and talented.  Thank you for giving us entertainment and adding colors and spices to our life.

  And that explains how would life be without internet And WiFi. I also experienced suffering when our home WiFi was broken. I could not do my assignments and research stuff. And then I realized  that internet and WiFi is important based on my experience. But we should not be addicted to it and our life would be controlled by the internet. Like the quote says that " Life is being ruined by the internet" by John Cena ,states that more people are being too much dependent on the internet and they cannot do their work on their own.We are  becoming minions of the internet, they want to rule us and be controlled by them.We should avoid using internet every time and try using books.

   Is Internet safe or not safe?   





            Sometimes,Internet can be safe and unsafe,it has advantages and disadvantages which i discussed in my 1st blog,please check that out.We are affected by it and we could also be a victim of its disadvantages.Most of the time it can be below the belt or mean. Examples are MEMES: sometimes it can be cute and funny

 But can be  mean:

 Other disadvantages are cyber crimes,cyber bullying and hacking.

How can we solve these problems? Can the government help us and ensure that internet will be safe and secure?If yes, In what way?
        
    The government is the only able body that can censor or control the internet. The government can put up an office and put some men to be in charge of viewing or reading or receiving all the details being posted, encoded, uploaded in the internet in their country.They can also be the ones who can delete them and impose penalties on those who uses the internet improperly. Just imagine if someone is using the internet improperly like posting rude remarks and comments, posting  or using pictures of persons to humiliate them, with the help of an organization from the government, maybe then, these cyber crimes will be lessen at first and finally put to an end.

  But there will be one disadvantage of this kind of censorship and that is invading the privacy of people. It will be like when someone posts something, it will first reach to the government than to the person whom the post/message is intended.


          

        The picture shows that if the government will take control of the internet there will be no freedom of speech.


    Is there a serious potential threat to the government and state?

    In some countries like USA, some of their government agencies were said to be hacked and maybe some of their top secret information were out in the open


White house hacked:

  An unnamed official told the Associated Press that the State Department’s classified systems were not affected, but the “department shut down its worldwide email late on Friday as part of a scheduled outage of some of its Internet-linked systems to make security improvement t its main unclassified computer network.The White House detected suspicious activity on its unclassified network in late October. Although the State Department found “no indication” of being compromised at that time, now a department official claims the “activity of concern” was detected around the same time as the attack on the White House’s network. It’s unclear why so much time passed after its network was infiltrated before the State Department slammed on the brakes and took the “unprecedented step of shutting down its entire unclassified email system.”

   USPS hacked: 
The FBI notified the USPS that it suffered an intrusion in September. USPS later confirmed the breach went all the way back “to at least the beginning of January.” Chinese government hackers are suspected to be behind the cyberattack, reported The Washington Post. Names, birth dates, addresses and social security numbers of 800,000 USPS employees were stolen. Much like the State Department waited before shoring up security, the USPS was aware of the hack in Sept. but took didn’t start repairing the breach until the second weekend in November.Although USPS claimed no customer payment data was taken, “hackers swiped call center data going back to Jan. 1. That includes names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of people who contacted the Postal Service's Customer Care Center.” Nevertheless, the FBI said to report any suspected instances of identity theft to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.As you likely recall, the USPS takes a photo of every letter and package mailed in the U.S.; that’s about 160 billion pieces of mail per year. “Tens of thousands” of those images are handed over to law enforcement agencies for additional scrutiny. The USPS reported approving “nearly 50,000 requests last year from law enforcement agencies and its own internal inspection unit to secretly monitor the mail of Americans for use in criminal and national security investigations.”

 We may learn that if the government will be in charge of censoring the internet, they should have at least some guidelines on what can be and cannot be.And before they should put up one government agency of censorship,they should first ask or give surveys to all groups of people from students to businessmen.

Internet Safety

What is ethics? In my opinion,Ethics is morally knowing what is right and wrong in any aspect like behavior.It is also like following certain rules.It guides us on what helps or harms others, based on our decision. Our decision is based on how we think and feel. Example:There are some decisions that makes us comfortable and happy even if it harms/hurts others, then it is bad. It could also be good if it helps others.We should be really be aware of how we behave . Let's apply President Duterte's saying that "Change is coming" not only in our country but to our behavior because of his campaigns,everybody becomes aware of his rules and change for their own good.For example: The minors are aware that there's a curfew at 10Pm and onward so they don't go out of their houses at that time.That means if we know its wrong then we should change for the better.

       What are safety guidelines?Safety guidelines for me are rules or instructions that you should follow for safety.It is not mandatory,it is up to  you if you should follow it or not. It does not force you to do it but is also based on your decision. 

          Ethics and Guidelines go hand in hand because knowing what is right and wrong will make you realize that you should follow safety guidelines for your own good. And know let us talk about Internet safety guidelines and Internet Ethics. The only difference in this blog is we are going to talk about the Internet. Here are some  that I know:

• Use computer with courtesy. It means we should be polite at the internet and never post something negative and bad,like in social networking sites.Everyone should be treated fairly and nicely at the internet.Someone can report you at the internet and there could be a case against you, so it is safe to be polite.
• Never post your personal information like phone numbers and home address, because someone can track/stalk you and distract  you. They could also  use and pretend to be you. 
• Do not post inappropriate photos and ask permission to your parents before you post a picture because it can be misused and shared  to other people without your knowledge.It can be used as a meme too that can go viral.
• Never share your password to anyone including your friends.It is safe to only share it to your parents and guardians, because if you shared it to someone like your friend, they can hack you and post anything about you without your knowledge.Remember that you could not always trust someone.
• Use privacy settings of social networking sites because if in public settings people can stalk you and look at all your photos and share to other people.
• Don't meet up to people you have met online because the person can do something bad to you like kidnap and rape.
• If you see something online that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe or worried: leave the website, turn off your computer if you want to and tell a trusted adult immediately because it can affect you emotionally,physically and mentally.

10 Commandments of Computer/Internet Ethics:

• Thou shall not use a computer to harm other people. It means not to emotionally and mentally hurt them by giving negative comments and cyber bullying them.
• Thou shall not interfere with other people's computer work.It means we should respect and give privacy to other people's documents/files
• Thou shall not snoop around in other people's computer files.It means we should again give privacy to them as same as the 2nd commandment.
• Thou shall not use a computer to steal. It means to not take anyone' s photo and claim it as yours or any of their personal information. We should also not use it in asking for money to someone you don't know.
• Thou shall not use computer to bear false witness.It means not to criticize or judge another person.It is like the 1st commandment.Pretending to be someone but it is not really you is another example of it.
• Thou shall not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid.It means to pay for a software(if needed) to not encounter a problem.
• Thou shall not use other people's computer resources without authorization or proper compensation.It means not to use other people's account to benefit from them.
• Thou shall not appropriate other people's intellectual output.It means not to copy other people's work like Plagiarism.
• Thou shall not think the social consequences of the program you are writing or the system you are designing.It means to think about the effects of the apps or website you look at or download.
• Thou shall always use a computer in ways to ensure consideration and respect for the fellow humans. It means to treat fairly or nicely to other people.Do not give bad comments to someone.

    These are what I know.It is important to follow these guidelines and ethics for me because they lead us to safety and effectiveness.My personal tip to others is to not commit any cyber crime,because crimes lead us to jail or court. Another tip is to prevent cyber bullying because anybody who undergoes this type of bullying really affects them emotionally and mentally,they even commit suicide. Like a saying goes"Think before you click".

What is Internet for me

        Internet for me is a global system where you can link to networks. It carries information resources and applications of World Wide Web. Internet is the network of networks because of the interconnection of different networks. We are accessible to every network in the computer. There are many uses of internet in our everyday tasks in life. Simply, It is like how we are being able to pass in school or in our work.That is because :

•  It helps us in doing our assignments than looking or reading in our books. We tend to find an easy and fast way which is the Internet.
•  It can be used in school like making this blog and other educational contents that makes us smart. It gives us information about missed lessons. Like using GENYO, an  interactive learning site, which we use to look back on our lessons and answer quizzes.
•  It makes us communicate and socialize with other people using social media sites.We are able to chat and post photos, videos and our status. Like using Facebook, We make friends from any country and be able to talk with them with the new app of facebook which is Messenger where we can video chat or call with people using the internet. We also use  Youtube to watch videos  movies or listen to music which can be educational or for our business. It is also for our entertainment and happiness in life.You can also watch news from any country,any time and any where.
• You can also find your location and if someone is lost, you can use the GPS but if you only have a cellphone then you can track than on a computer.\
• You can use it in business to be updated about business news and their transactions. If you have a conference and you are absent, you can easily use computer and video call with the people in the conference.
• You can also play games and have entertainment.
• You can photoshop everything on your body to be beautiful.

But Internet also have disadvantages like:

• It makes students lazy to study and make assignments.It makes them dependent on the internet than on the books. Another issue is sometimes they want assignment printed than handwritten, then they become really lazy.
• We can be hacked on social media and sometimes syndicate copy information about a person and pretend to be them.You can also be cyber bullied and have negatuve comments about any of you posts. In watching videos, there are some things that may not be suitable for you and younger children like pornography and violent videos, it affects their mind and behaviour.
• Other people especially children can be addicted to games and not study. Sometimes they even bet money on online games like DOTA and LOL.They  do not even spend their money on recess and lunch but save it for online games.
• Sometimes it is used for illegal activities like Plagiarism.

     And that is the INTERNET ,Sometimes useful and bad for us.That is my opinion about it. Like the quote of Abraham Lincoln says "The trouble with the internet is you may never know if they are genuine",because internet is very accessible to everybody that  you can use anything to pretend or hide something about you. You may not even know that the information you are gathering is correct like Wikipedia and Yahoo Answers that is sometimes edited and full of jokes. That disturbs your studies and knowledge and make you a fool. And all of this is based on my experience.
